Dakota Benton

Dakota Lamon Benton age 26 of Cleveland, TN. passed July 6, 2018. He was a 2009 honor graduate of McMinn Central High School in Etowah, TN., and had career interest as an apprentice electrician.

He is preceded in death by two uncles, Cletus Benton, and Brian Benton, paternal grandfather Homer Ford, great-grandmother Lillian Blanton, maternal great-grandmother Joyce Mooney Benton, maternal great grandfather Fred Benton, and grandmother, Evelyn Benton.

Survivors include his mother, Danita Borden Humes of Cleveland, TN., his biological father, Glenn Ford of Chattanooga, TN., father Daniel Doug Borden of Etowah, TN. Step-father, Aaron Humes of Cleveland, TN. Paternal grandmother Everneza Ford of Chattanooga, TN. Three brothers, Darecio Borden of Knoxville, TN., Dreux Borden of Etowah, TN., and Jayden Ford of Chattanooga, TN. One sister, Shania Ford of Atlanta, Ga. Maternal grandfather, 1 ^st Sgt. (retired) Kerry Lewis Benton of Columbus, Ga. Three uncles, Herbert Benton of Etowah, TN and Michael  Benton,  of Texas, and Stewart L. Benton of Athens, TN. Two aunts, Ebony Benton of Baltimore, MD, LaJean Parris of Murfreesboro, TN. Special friends, Gaston Woody, DeMarcus Killebrew, DeAnthony Killebrew, C.J. Mullinax, Johnathan Harrison, Jarrel Harrison, DeMicha Malone. Five great-aunts, Belinda Gail Benton, Vivian Carter, Karen Granger, Renee Smith, Trella Benton. Two special uncles, Wayne Eton and Wesley Constant, and godmother Laura Powell. Many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 13, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Starr Bethel Baptist Church in Etowah, TN with Rev. Larry Saunders officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
