Charles Anthony ‘Tony’ Long age 58, passed Monday June 22, 2020 in Athens, TN. He was a graduate of McMinn County High School Class of 1981. He served his country in the Unite States Army with a specialty as an infantryman sharpshooter. Tony was a hardworking, loving family man who help raise three children.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Marie Long, sisters, Rosalyn Arnwine and Emily Henry, and nephew Rodney Arnwine.
He is survived by his life partner Jennifer Wilson of Athens, TN., sister Angela Long of Athens,TN. Son, Andrew Wilson, and daughter Destiny Wilson both of Athens, TN, and daughter EmilyWilson-Dugan of Bloomington, Indiana. Granddaughters, Mercedes Wilson, Tonya Allen, and Raelynne Wilson, and grandson, Noah Wilson. Cousins, Harrison ‘PNutt’ Brown Jr. of Athens, TN, and Debra Bradley of Sweetwater, TN. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lifetime friends, William ‘Spanky’ and Robin Ferguson and Lynn and (Billy Boy) Ferguson all of Athens, TN.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Scaife delivering the eulogy. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.Interment will be at Hammonds Cemetery with military honors.
