Cathy Thompson

Cathy Naomi Hickey Thompson, age 68 of Cleveland, TN. died Monday, December 24, 2018 in a Chattanooga, TN hospital. She accepted Christ at an early age. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved working for Walmart, where she retired after twenty-eight years. She loved her family and friends. She loved music, cooking, shopping and reading her bible, and she loved the Lord.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arlie Hickey Jr. and Catherine Cummings Hickey, brother Johnny Hickey, sister Felicia Blair, and father-in-law Cecil Thompson, and son Richard Hickey.

She leaves to cherish many memories, her husband, Anthony Lewis Thompson, one daughter, DeAngela Nicole Person, son Garthellia Hickey, grandchildren, LaSuela (Cornelius) Parks, Marquise Foy, Antwane Person, and Armani Person. Great-grandchildren, Caliyah Parks, Cornelius Parks Jr., Aaliyah and Alec Person. Brothers, Stanley A. (Debra) Hickey III, Ralph L. (Debra) Hickey, Erwin (Phyllis) Hickey, and Mickie Hickey. Mother-in-law, Louise Thompson, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 30, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with pastor, Rev. Edward S. Robinson, Sr. delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church from 1:00 p.m until 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Cleveland, TN. Visitation by friends will begin on Saturday December 29, 2018 from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
