Bruce Wilkerson

Alvin Bruce “Big B” Wilkerson age 64 died Sunday, July 9, 2023 at his home in Athens, TN. He was born in Harriman, TN. and graduated from Harriman High School. He attended Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Athens, TN before his health began to fail. He served his country in the United States army during the Vietnam Era War and was decorated as an expert rifleman while in the army. Bruce loved fishing and playing cards with his buddies.

He was preceded in death by his mother ImerjeanWilkerson and father Albert Hanks, brothers, Melvin Wilkerson, Phillip Wilkerson, Hollis Jr. Wilkerson, Lawrence Lee Wilkerson.

Survivors include two daughters, Rima Stewart of New Castle ,Delaware, and Shamiah Wilkerson of Athens, TN., sisters, Stella Redd of Oakridge TN., Rachel Wilkerson of Louisville Ky., and Tracy Wilkerson of Athens, TN., brothers, Steven(Regenia)Wilkerson of Riceville, TN., and Marvin Wilkerson of Niota TN., Granddaughters, Maya Minor and Markayla Minor and several nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 13, 2023at 12:00 noon with Rev. Kevin Harris delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
