Bettye Jo Lattimore Berry, or Hello Kitty or Granna as she is affectionately known by her grandchildren, was born August 9, 1941 in Charleston, TN. She was a lifelong resident of Charleston, TN., she graduated into eternal life Sunday, March 26, 2023.

She became a member of Mt. Eagle Missionary Baptist Church at a young age and served faithfully there for her entire life. She worked as a production operator at Duracell for over thirty years.

Bettye was renown for having a beautiful singing voice. For decades she performed in various church groups, district choirs, and a family group, the ‘Lattimore Sisters’. She was also a talented pianist. Bettye was also an avid bird lover and bird watcher. She loved the wildlife that lived in her yard. She enjoyed working in her garden.

She was the daughter of the late Eddie and Etna Mae Boaz-Lattimore, who proceed her in death. She is also preceded in death by her husband Hoyt Berry, her young brother Colonel Lattimore, brothers-in-law Bill Berry, and Walter Goode, sisters-in-law, Mildred McGee and Wanda Berry.

She is survived by her two children, De’Sha(Walter) Rogers of Georgetown, TN., and Terrance Berry of Charleston, TN. Her brother, Ben (Yvonne) Lattimore of Florida, and Sue Goode of Charleston, TN. Five grandchildren, Brie’Ahn Berry, and Jaden Berry both of Riceville, TN. Ashanti, Alejandro, and Mariela Rogers all Georgetown, TN. A special niece, Shona McBee of Charleston, TN, sisters-in-law, Annabell Phillips, and Marie Berry, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Homegoing services will be held Sunday, April 2, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Eagle Baptist Church in Charleston, TN with Rev. Edward S. Robinson Jr. officiating and Rev. James Parris delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church from 1:00 pm until 2:00pm. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
