Arnold Lee “Snapper” Simpson age 65 of Sweetwater, TN. died July 25, 2018 in a  local hospital. He was a native of Etowah, Tn and attended McMinn Central High School. He was a retired employee of Bowater Southern, and served in the U.S. Army. He was loved by all and well known as ‘D. J. Snapper”,…aka – ‘The man of knowledge’. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marie & Thomas Simpson, Cornelius Brown, son Brandon Miller, sister, Carolyn Edington, brothers, Ernie Simpson, Alan Younger, Thomas David Simpson Jr., and Lamar Younger.

Survivors include, his wife Sheila Simpson of Sweetwater, TN, two daughters,  Shauntay Marie Oggs of Sweetwater, TN,  and Yanetrick Wyontay Simpson of Knoxville, TN. Two sons, Andre O’Bryan Simpson of Nashville, TN, and Marqui Lovell Smith of Sweetwater, TN. and  three sisters, Dorothy Lemons of Etowah, TN., Camilla Younger of Washington, D.C. and Belinda Younger of Denver, Colo. Two brothers, Donald Mack Simpson of Etowah, TN Cornelius Brown of Knoxville, TN. One sister-in-law Felica Johnson of Sweetwater, TN. and brothers-in-law, David Neil Jr., and Calvin Roberts both of Athens, TN. Seven grandchildren, special mother figure, Juanita Jackson, friends Don Tibbs, and Joey Jackson. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 29, 2018 at 3:30 at Greater Deliverance Ministries in Athens, TN with Pastor Angela Arnwine delivering the eulogy and Rev. Vant Hardway officiating. The family will receive friends before the service on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Memorial Gardens.
