Adella Knox Jones

Adella Knox Jones age 91, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday,  September 29, 2020 at a local health care facility in Athens, TN. She was a  lifelong member of St. James Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She spent  her life loving and caring for her family and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed her soap operas, gardening, grocery shopping and cooking.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Major Eugene Jones, and her parents Bert Peterson and Maggie Knox, two daughters Eugenia Jones, and Annette Jones, dear friend Rudolph Woods, sisters  Ella Ruth Langham, Eva Lois Constant, Lorraine Peters, brothers, Harold Peters, Joe Peters, Rich Peters, and a special helper and niece Mildred ‘sister’ Constant.

Survivors include her sons Larry (Kristina) Jones and Christopher (Bonita) Woods and daughter Robin Gale Jones all of Cleveland, TN. One sister, Mary Catherine Lowe of Cleveland, TN. Thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Best friend Betty Person, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Homegoing services will be Sunday, October 4, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.  in the chapel of M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home – Cleveland, TN. with pastor Rev. Rhonda Westfield delivering the eulogy and Minister Cynthia Hardaway. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Cemetery in Cleveland, TN. There will be a walk thru visitation from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
