Annie Smith

Annie Laurie Delores Dunn Smith of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed Monday, April 3, 2017 at a Chattanooga hospital surrounded by her family. She was age 80. She was born on May 1, 1936 in Cleveland, TN to the late Arthur and Beatrice Dunn.

Mrs. Smith was a long time member of Greater Chandler Chapel Baptist Church, serving over the years as usher, deaconess, and on the mother board. She worked for UTC/Barnes and Noble for over 30 years. She attended college at Chattanooga State and UTC. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, watching game shows, doing word puzzles, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Dunn, Beatrice Moore Dunn, and LeeAmmer Henegar Dunn; her sister Dorothy Dunn Dawson, her granddaughter Conswella Latrice Eppinger, her great-grandson Kayson Jeffery Phillips and many other family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, John H. Smith, and her children,John A. Smith (a.k.a. Scoopy), Billy R. Smith, Ritchie L. Smith (Nikoel), Marva J. Smith (Gary), Alice M. Evans (Albert), Hamilton E. Smith, and Frances S. Smith (Alan). She has 25 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She also leaves to cherish her two special family members Naomi (Bobbie) Moore and Peggy Goodine as well as Tederall Wadley who was like a son.

The family will receive friends from 12-1 pm Saturday, April 15 at Shiloh Baptist Missionary Church of Cleveland, Tennessee. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm. with Pastor, Rev. Wilber Waddle officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cleveland, Tennessee.
