Lillian A. Malone

Lillian Arnetta Kitts Malone, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at her home. She was born on April 14, 1924 to the late Willie and Maggie Kitts in Knoxville, TN.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by: son, James Elihue Looney; brother, Lester Kitts; sister, Willow Dean Gay; niece, Clover Gay and son-in-law, Raymond Andrews, Sr.

She was saved at an early age and was a loyal member of True Vine Missionary Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN, where she served as a Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of Wheeler Leona Eastern Star Chapter #232.

She graduated from Austin High School in 1944. After retiring from Westinghouse Electric Company in Athens, TN., she became a Foster Grandparent with Fulton High School’s Program for Special Needs Children, under the direction of Dr. Patricia Jones until 2007.

She leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Gloria Andrews of Knoxville, TN; sons, Robert E. (Shirley) Looney of Foley, Alabama, Ben D. (Geraldine) Looney of Windsor, Ontario; very devoted great niece, Carol Arnwine , grandson, Michael “Ty” Andrews, granddaughter Angela Stewart; nieces, Carolyn (Minster Charles “Chuck”) Dorsey; LaVerne Gay; and nephew, Clyde (Darlene) Gay; along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends ; special friends, Edna Brown & Debra Cox.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 4, 2017, from 12:30pm -1:00 pm at M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home, 502 Congress Pkwy., Athens, Tn . , with Homegoing celebration following at 1.00pm. with Rev. Cecil Clark officiating, Interment celebration will follow at Hammonds Cemetery,1500 W.Madison Ave.,Athens, Tn. ,
