Cletus Benton

Cleatus Gene Benton age 59 of Etowah, Tn. died Monday February 6, 2017. He was a graduate of McMinn Central High School, and attended Harwell A.M.E. Zion Church of Etowah. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Joyce Benton, sister, Belinda Benton, and brother Johnny Benton.
Survivors include four sisters, Vivian Carter(Michael Oliver) of Clemmons, North Carolina, Karen Granger(Felix) of Griffin, Ga., Jacqueline Wells (Steve Holcomb) of Atlanta, Ga., Trella Benton(Wesley Constant) of Cleveland, Tn. Four brothers, Herbert Benton(Debra) of Etowah, Tn., Kerry Benton(Yvette) of Columbus, Ga., Michael Benton(Ingrid) of St. Croix, Virgin Island, Brian Benton(Kristy) of Etowah, Tn. and Johnny (Anna) Mooney of Etowah, Tn. Special friends, George ‘Lebo’ Boyd, and Lajuan Lowary, and host of nieces, nephews, and friends,

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home- Athens, with Rev. Angela Billingsley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
