Austin Jerel Dotson

Austin Jerel Dotson, 28 of Athens, TN went to be with his Lord on December 23, 2016 at a local hospital. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marshall A. Arnwine and Dorothy R. Arnwine, Virginia Jo Dotson, and great grandmothers Gertha Hicks and Estella Vaught. He was a 2006 Graduate of McMinn County High School, and previously attended Middle TN State University. He was currently employed at Thomas and Betts, and a student at Tennessee College of Applied Technology in the Electro-Mechanical Technology Program and a he was also a minister. He also coached his son’s AYSO soccer team and was a devoted Cub Scout Parent. He attended Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Niota, TN. Survivors include loving wife of eight years, Susana Moreno Dotson and two sons Malachi and Christian Dotson of Athens, TN; Parents Tyrone (Tony) and Lisa Dotson of Athens, TN; Sister, Aisha Dotson and friend Julian White of Memphis, TN; Grandfather Marquis Dotson Sr. of Athens, TN; Father-in-law and mother-in-law Juan and Susan Moreno of Sweetwater, TN; and Grandparents-in-law, Juan and Joann Salazar of Chatsworth, GA. Aunts, Pamela ( Robert) Bright, Franklin, Tn., Tanya Kaye (Anthony) Robinson of Athens, TN., Twana (Don) Ferguson of Niota, TN, Patricia (Edgar) Patton of Chattanooga, TN., Frances Arnwine of Athens, TN. Uncles, Marquis (Alma) Dotson Jr. of Cleveland, TN., Walter Dotson of Athens, TN., Marshall Gene (Judy) Arnwine, Wayman(Rose) Arnwine of Soddy Daisy, TN., Donald (Kathy) Arnwine of Cleveland TN., Ronald Arnwine, Anthony (Amy) Arnwine of Athens, TN., Billy Bailey of Clarksville, TN. and Ricky King of Athens, TN; and special childhood family Bruce & Esther McCowan; Dexter, Elijah and Ayana ‘Ducky’ McCowan. A host of loving cousins and friends. Funeral Services will be 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2016, at Woodward Avenue Church of God in Athens, TN with Pastor Terrell Mims officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at the church prior to the service. Interment will be at McMinn Memory Gardens. Visiting of friends will begin at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2016.
