James Benney ‘BerBer’ Dickey age 65 of Etowah, Tn. passed Thursday, morning April 14, 2016 in a Veterans hospital in Johnson City, TN.
He was a graduate of McMinn Central High School, Class of 1968, and a graduate of Browns Barber College of Atlanta, Ga. He served on the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. He attended Mount Olive A.M.E Zion Church in Etowah, TN. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Willie Mae Dickey, one uncle, Joseph Cobb, one brother, James ‘Patch’ Ferguson.

Survivors include , one son, Warren Fati King of Athens, TN., two brothers, Michael Lee Dickey, of Cleveland, TN., and Alvin Paul Dickey of Etowah, TN. Two nieces, Natasha Moore of Ringold, Ga., and Stacey Ferguson of Athens, TN. Nephews, Antraum M. Dickey, Deountray S. Dickey, Gerald Ferguson, and Brent Ferguson. Special granddaughters, Taylen Johnkins of Madisonville,Tn., and Angel Shannon Gilreath of Johnson City, TN. Cousins, Robert Cobb of Etowah, TN, Gilda Cobb of Athens,TN., Tina Harvey of Chattanooga, TN., Amie Williams of Cincinnati, Ohio, Pete Cobb of Memphis, TN, Arlena Cobb, Renee Cobb and Louis Alston all of Etowah, TN., and special friends, Larry Stovall, Perry Sanders, Juanita and Raymond Jackson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Athens, Tn., with Rev. Larry Saunders officiating. The family will receive friends one before the service at the funeral home from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. Services of loving memory entrusted to M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home.
