OBITUARY
Rev. Paul McCleary was called to rest January 28, 2016. After fighting a long illness, the battle has been won. He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Eva McCleary, son Pryor McCleary and grandson Ja Michael Parks.
Rev. Paul McCleary was Pastor and life-long member of Mt. Eagle Baptist Church in Charleston TN. where he served faithfully. Before becoming the pastor, he was a long time Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Sunday School Superintendent. He believed in serving God at all times. He was employed at Arch Chemicals for forty years. He was the first black supervisor at the Charleston facility. He has served on several committees in the Charleston Community. He was a member of the Charleston-Calhoun Water Board as well as the Charleston City Planning Committee. He dedicated his life to help in any way he could and to help anyone in need.

He was the true definition of a renaissance man, whether it was working on homes, building things for others or working in his yard that he loved and cherished. He loved hunting, spending time with his grandchildren and talking philosophy and the bible with anyone that would take the time to talk.

He is survived by devoted wife, Purnella McCleary. Daughters, Paula Parks, Patrice Boyd (Kenneth) both of Charleston and Paige Wells (Kelvin, Sr) of Riceville. Sisters, Mildred Summey of Knoxville, Carolyn Talley of Chattanooga and Sandra Reba McCleary of Cleveland. Four Grand-Children, O’aSha Forshee (Cameron), Danessa Boyd, Kenneth Boyd and Kelvin Wells, Jr. Four great-grandchildren Malik and Mason Forshee, Kendall Boyd and Riley Wilford.
Honorary Daugther and Grandson, Sonya and Bryant McDermott.
Sister in laws, Brenda Jarrett and Waynetta Taylor both of Cleveland. Brother in laws Dennis Jarrett (Patricia) of Cleveland, Calvin Jarrett (Delilah) of Connecticut and one Aunt Irene Douglas, Barbara Pugh of Cleveland, TN., and Marie Berry of Charleston, TN.
He also leaves a host of other nieces and nephews and several close cousins and friends, and his Mt. Eagle Baptist church family.

Services will be held at Mt. Eagle Baptist Church in Charleston TN on Tuesday February 2 at 2:00 pm, with Rev. James Parris officiating and delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 pm. at the church. The body will be lie in state at Mt. Eagle Baptist Church from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm on Monday, February 1.
