Cedric Brown

Cedric Brown age 49 of Athens, passed away December 28, 2015 at a local Athens hospital. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude Shultz Brown, twin brother Fredric Brown, and devoted aunt Jessie Shultz.

Survivors include his father, Robert Brown of Knoxville, Tn., brothers, Lorenzo Brown of Etowah, Tn., and Jeffery (Danita) Brown, of Athens, Tn., sisters, Dora(Lawrence) Newton, of Etowah, Tn., Collen Brown, of Athens, Tn., Sandra Brown, Priscilla Brown, and Sylvia Brown all of Etowah, Tn., along with several nieces, nephews, many other relatives, and special family members, Eric Crenshaw, Vivian Brown, and Tami Morrow. He had a special friends and counselor Thomas Harris and other special friends at his group home.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 3, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home – Athens, Tn. with Rev. James Parris officiating, and Rev. Larry Saunders offering prayer. Prior to the service on Sunday the family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pall bearers will be Lamont Brown, Jeffery Brown, Deryl Crenshaw, Chester Brown, Jeremy Brown, Richard Smith, Thomas Billingsley, and Terry Moss. Burial will follow at New Zion Cemetery in Etowah, Tn. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to the funeral home.
