John Edward Macon age 66 went home to be with the Lord Monday December 7, 2015 at his residence in Sweetwater, Tn. John graduated from McMinn High School. After high school he worked for what was called Steel City but later was known as Thomas and Betts.
He was a deacon at Mt. Cumberland Presbyterian Church of America in Sweetwater, TN. He loved to fish and hunt.
John's parents Leon and June Macon along with his brothers Daniel and Clarence have preceded him to heaven.
Those who have broken hearts from his departure are; beloved wife Kay, daughter Jeanette (Reggie) Smith, two grandchildren, his sisters Martha Macon G’ee of Atlanta, Ga., and Shirley(John) Stewart of Sweetwater, TN. and brother Terry(Barbara)Macon of Sweetwater, Tn. Sister-in-law, Sylvana (Robert) Bailey of Cleveland, TN. A large number of nephews, nieces, cousins and a multitude of friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 13, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Sweetwater, TN with Rev. Perry Jackson delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends one before the service at the church from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Visitation by friends will begin after 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in the chapel of M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home – Athens, TN.
