Cecil Thompson

Cecil Thompson age 81 went home to be with the Lord Tuesday November 3, 2015 at a local health care facility. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Cleveland, TN. He retired from Bowater Paper Company after thirty-nine and one half years. He loved gardening and doing anything that was outdoors. He was also an avid craftsman.

He is preceded in death by his parents Arthur Thompson and Easter Lillie Wells Thompson, infant daughter Marion Elizabeth Thompson, brothers, Arthur Lewis Thompson, Thedford Thompson, sisters, Josephine Mathis, and Zella York and son-in-law Warren Willis.
Memories of love and family will be cherished by his precious wife of sixty years, Louise Thompson, sons, Cecil LaVelle(Wanda) Thompson Sr., Anthony L.
(Cathy) Thompson, and Waymond L. (Jackee) Thompson Sr. all Cleveland, TN., daughters, Debbie R. Willis of Oak Ridge, TN., and Marilyn A. (Hosea) Woods of Cleveland, TN. Twelve grandchildren, LaKeisha Sailors of Hampton, GA., Marcus Donohoo, Maurice Donohoo, Cecil L. Thompson Jr., Shana Justice, Waymond L. Thompson Jr., Dustin Thompson, Christopher Spruill, Kendrick Thompson, Jordan Thompson , Nicole Person and Garthellia ‘Pep’ Hickey all of Cleveland, TN. Twenty-one great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Vivian Thompson of Cleveland, TN., Andree Wright and Edna Talley of Chattanooga, TN. Aunt Juanita Baker of Cleveland, Ohio, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cleveland, TN. with Pastor Rev. Edward S. Robinson Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Visitation by friends will be from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday November 7, 2015 at M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home- Cleveland, TN.
