Walter Nash

Walter R. Nash age 75 of Athens, Tn. passed away February 6, 2015 at a Sweetwater health care facility.
He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Athens, Tn. Walter was born in Newark, New Jersey and move to Athens, Tn., in later years to be with his uncle, Mr. W.E. Nash and his sister Mrs. Zelma McClure.
Walter was married to Carolyn Nash, to this union there were three children, Gwenovin Nash Thomas, Diana Nash, and Walter Nash Jr. and seven grandchildren all of New Jersey. After moving to Athens, Tn., he married Margaret Ann Billups Nash. He has two stepsons, William(Laura) Billups, Christopher(Misty) Brabson, and two step-daughters, Renee Bradley and Annissa Brabson. He has sixteen step- grandchildren and seventeen step-great grandchildren.
While in Newark, NJ, he was employed as a construction worker. After coming to Athens he worked at Shoney’s restaurant.
To cherish his memories he leaves a devoted sister, Mrs. Zelma McClure of Athens, Tn., and three other sisters, Elizabeth Batts, Dianne Crew, and Verona Nash and one brother Clayburn Nash and a special friend John Foster.
