Calvin Terrance Felton, 56, journey of life peacefully ended on Saturday, December 13, 2014, in Newman, Georgia. He was a resident of Athens, Tennessee for years.
He was a 1976 graduate of John Yeates High School and also a 1981 graduate of
Hampton University with a major in Biology. Having a true love for sports, he played football in high school and was also captain of the football team at Hampton University. While attending college, Calvin pledged Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc., Gamma Omega Chapter. Calvin came to Athens 30 years ago when he accepted a position with the Tennessee Valley Authority and has been employed with them as a Health Physicist. He joined Overcoming Faith Christian
Center more than twenty-five years ago and has served faithfully in several capacities, Deacon, Director of Children’s Ministry and assisted in the Phase 2 Ministry.
He leaves to cherish in his memory his devoted wife of 34 years, Cressandra Everett Felton, two daughters, Shernita Felton and Crystal Felton of Athens,Tn., his parents Calvin and Katie Felton of Suffolk, Va., two loving granddaughters, Karena and Arlana both of Athens, Tn. Two brothers, Warren Felton and Timothy(Tara) Felton of Richmond, Va., adopted sister Patty(Ambrose) of Miami, Fl. Eight sisters-in-law, Veta Cowling, Vanessa Newsome, Yvette Artis, Velma Taylor, Frances E. Cohen, Sharon Everett Harding ,Audrey Edwards and Delphine Taylor. Five brothers-in-law, Raymond Edwards, Vincent Cowlings, Elvin Artis, Richard Cohen, and Ronald Harding, and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, other relatives, and his church family.
