Brenda Fay King Battle

Brenda Fay King Battle, age 58, a native of Athens, passed away Tuesday, December 2, at her home in Newark, NJ.
A 1974 graduate of McMinn County High School, Brenda was born May 1, 1956, to the late Warren G. and Dora E. Moore King. She is preceded in death by her two sisters and a brother-in-law Ollie V. (Stanley) Long, an infant sister, mother-in-law Lee-Ella Battle Lane, father-in-law Clarence E. Battle, and brothers-in-law Julius A Battle and Leroy Lane Sr.

Survivors include her husband of 22 years James A. Battle of Newark, NJ; son Warren Fati King of Athens; granddaughter Taylen Johnkins of Madisonville; brother Warren H. King of Athens; two sisters and a brother-in-law Sherry L. (Jackie) Scruggs and Dianne E. King, also of Athens; sisters-in-law Shirley and Mary Battle and brothers-in-law Clarence and Jerry Battle, all of New Jersey; aunt Ollie J. Cullom of Knoxville; special friends Effie King, Everett Gillespie, Janet King, Charlesetta McDermott, all of Athens, Daniel Cox of Etowah, James McDermott, Jr. of Nashville, and a host of others, too many to name, to include nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
