Garland Everett Parker age 72 died Wednesday morning September 17, 2014 at his residence in Charleston, Tn. He was a member of Green Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Charleston, Tn. He was a graduate of the 1960 class at College Hill School in Cleveland, and attended Knoxville College. He was employed for over 30 years with the Tennessee Department of Transportation as a road inspector.
He enjoyed fishing, baseball, reading his daily newspaper and most of all his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charles Thomas Parker and Zilla Mae Goldston Parker and grandson Orenthal James ‘OJ’ Blair.
Survivors include his life partner for 25 years Garcia Davis of Charleston,Tn. Three sons, Troy Parker, Charles Barry Parker, and Reginald (Erica)Parker all of Cleveland, Tn.
Nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
