Jane Hayles Gordon

September 18, 1930 — August 21, 2014

Jane Elizabeth (Hayles) Gordon died on August 21, 2014 after a brief illness at a local hospital in Cleveland, Tn. Jane was born September 18, 1930 in Crofts Hill (Clarendon Parish) Jamaica (W.I.), to the late Leslie and Eliza Hayles.

She was preceded in death by her husband Revered Enus Gordon, brothers Reverend Gilbert Thomas, Sr., George Thomas, Tom Hayles, Eustace Beckford, Edward Cameron and one sister Ethlyn Douglas.

Jane served in ministry alongside her husband, the Late Rev. Enus Gordon. She was a founder of the New Testament Church of God in England, served as ladies ministry president at the various churches throughout her husband’s ministry (Leamington Spa and Leicester in England, Inman Street Church of God in Cleveland, TN and Metropolitan Church of God in Washington, D.C.), District Ladies Ministries President, National Ladies Board (England and Wales) and Co-founder of Metropolitan Church of God (Washington, D.C.). She was a people person who enjoyed sewing, traveling and working in ministry.

Jane is survived by her children Pauline Smith of Cleveland, TN, Winston Gordon of Flowery Branch, GA, and Yvonne Anisal (Myrus) of Silver Spring, Md., one granddaughter Janice Anisal of Silver Spring, Md., a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
