Denver Lamarr Anderson was born on July 6, 1943 to Gideon and Lessie (Austin) Anderson. Denver lived for 13 years in Toledo, Ohio and 28 years in Cleveland, TN. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Gideon, David, and Lucias Anderson. His sisters, Lula Mae Westfield, Janette Goldston, and Lessie Shopshire.
Denver attended College Hill High School in Cleveland, TN. He served as an Army PFC from July 1961 – June 1964, and was stationed in Germany.
He was employed by Arch Chemical Co. where he retired after 28 years. Denver enjoyed deep sea fishing, music, and played in a band.
Denver departed this life to be with the lord on June 20, 2014. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Silvia Lux (Germany), Prisavia (Jeffrey) Croft of Cleveland, TN, Adrienne Anderson of Toledo, OH, and Denver Anderson, Jr. of Cleveland, TN. 7 grandchildren, Nadine and Kevin Lux, Travis, Tyler, Tiffany, and Trevor Croft, and Michael Anderson. 1 great-granddaughter. 1 brother, Emmanuel Anderson (Toledo, OH), 4 sisters, Evelyn King (Chattanooga, TN), Hazel Ramsey, Willie Jean Johnson, and Madie Roberts (Cleveland, TN). Many nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Olive
Church of God with pastor Gary Sears officiating and Bishop Joe Bradford delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Fort Hill cemetery with military honor guard. Visitation by friends will begin after 2:00p.m. on Wednesday at M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home.
